A single-player space strategy game

Nobody can read your intentions. They read your fleets.

Every power out there arrives with its own history, its own species and its own firm idea of how a neighbour ought to behave. Some of them remember a war you have never heard of. Some have never met anything like you before and are working it out as they go.

So move a squadron toward a border and somebody has to decide what that meant. A threat. A misunderstanding. A promise being kept. What they settle on depends on who they are, what their grandparents wrote down, and how the year has treated them so far.

Some of them will call you an ally. Some of them will mean it.

The galaxy, meanwhile, is having its own year, and none of it is about you. Harvests fail. Seams run dry. A plague finds a shipping lane. A world you have never visited decides you are the reason it is hungry. Nothing that happens was aimed at you, and all of it is yours to answer for.

No two histories come out the same way, and there is no narrator waiting at the end to tell you which part mattered. Working that out is the last thing you do.

A capital ship in high orbit above a clouded world, escorts trailing behind it.
A heavy warship head on against a red nebula, running lights burning along its flank.
A pale armoured cruiser marked with a bird emblem, picking its way through an asteroid field.
